Elizabeth (Liz) Burroughs was born into the Burroughs family on a bright April morning. Her father, Davis Carlisle Burroughs III (Chippy), and mother, Gwen Burroughs, aimed to raise her daughter as a sophisticated lady. As such, Elizabeth had a carefree childhood: horseback riding, sailing, and skiing; summering in Martha's Vineyard with her grandma Ginny and Aunt Bunny and hanging out at country clubs. By the age of 13, Liz was a polished woman - she knew the fox trot, played a mean game of shuttlecock and never wore white after labor day. However, all of that was about to change when she left her cookie cutter suburban Connecticut town and headed to Virginia to attend college at William and Mary.
Over the next four years she traded her polos for huge earrings and black eyeliner, her art history degree for an environmental studies major, and her moderate politics to become a little bit radical. After a brief adventure working for Greenpeace, she is now living on a trailer fueled by waste vegetable oil traveling the country teaching communities about energy conservation and environmental issues. But, dear readers, have no fear - you can take the girl out of Connecticut, but you can't take Connecticut out of the girl. Liz still finds a way to keep up with the latest fashion trends and will never turn down a vodka tonic. She is excited to share her escapades on the biobus, environmental commentary and maybe some other life observations.
